To buyers, friends, and followers: 

Our design journey began with a simple proposition: most jewelry is made of metal, but we never felt fully related to it. We saw no reason why fabric jewelry couldn’t speak to people like us, who crave color, lightness, versatility, and unique expression. Each of our designs is created to feel spontaneous, with colours that spark creativity. We believe art should happen organically, not in factories, not through mass production.

 

Eta Gao (junior designer & co-founder) grew up across three different countries and has been exposed to different artistic styles and artisan cultures. When she was on her very first art and museum tour in New York City at the age of 5, she already had an eye for colors.

Eryn Wang (co-founder) grew up in a clothing factory. Fabric is in her DNA. Her dad ran a small five-story factory with 50+ workers, and she spent much of her childhood watching the process up close. What stayed with her most was her dislike for mass production. It felt impersonal, and she wanted something more creative and meaningful.

​

So when the idea of starting a craft brand came up, our initial reaction was, “Perfect! That could keep our hands busy.” But over time, we realized this wasn’t just about making designs, it was also about creating a space for self-expression, creativity, and constant breakthroughs. 

 

The past decade has been a journey of growth and persistence for both of us. We have been through all kinds of adversities in our lives. We both have a deep respect for quality and hard work. Along the way, Eta has become a committed runner and violinist who also has a natural curiosity in math. Eryn earned three degrees. While these experiences were not directly related to this design project, they shaped our perspectives behind it. They became the foundation of Transcendique, a brand inspired by the beauty and power of self-expression and personal breakthrough.
